Started at highway 1 at Kirk Creek and camped at Vicente. We made that our base camp. As of 5/14, Vicente had plenty of water and the trail from H1 to camp was littered with wildflowers. Goat camp, Espinosa and Trail Spring all had water nearby or through camp. The Stone Ridge Loop portion from Vicente was amazing. We hiked it counter-clockwise The weather at Goat Camp was perfect and we all slept without a tent under the stars. The hike back down was far easier and more relaxing. (4 miles roundtrip), the more adventurous types do a Sea to Sky, starting at Kirk Creek Campground and up Vicente Flat Trail (23 miles roundtrip). You can camp at Vicente Flat 5 miles in. Another 2.5 mile.. Great trail! Somewhat steep from Kirk Creek to Espinoza and no water sources. No water at Espinoza but there was a very small creek about 1/2 mile past. Lots of places to pitch a tent in Vin. Flat. We got there early enough to get the only picnic table under a giant redwood!
